Song: Do or Die

Standard

Music is my rocks
Music is my addiction
I need music
– Echelon –

The first time I watched the music video for Do or Die by 30 Seconds to Mars—which was yesterday afternoon on a procrastination from my writing—I kind of have a flashback. The concept is pretty similar to Closer to the Edge, the first song of 30 Seconds to Mars that hooked me right away to the band. Both has similar concept of video clip, similar energy, addicting melodies and drumbeats.

The lyrics are heartfelt, as expected from the band. The way words jumbled and interwoven together in a tilted-phrase—they always tell a story, and this time it’s about to dream and a shout out to make a choice; to do or die. To embrace the moment when it comes, or to let it go.

Make the best of our everyday,
because tomorrow the world could be totally different.
– Echelon –

And those Echelons featuring in this video are doing nothing but adding more charms to this song. Definitely on repeat. I have to admit the new album LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS have a more easy listening beats and pretty much quick to worm into the heart. They are more light-hearted. Well, at least the ones that have music videos. I haven’t been listening to the whole album yet.

I must say, though, that as for yet, none of them beat Hurricane—which pretty much still tops my playlist as one of the most played songs. Ever. Oh, the music video for Hurricane is pretty much the best of yet, too. The explicit one, I mean.

Still! I can’t let go of this new song. They are saying it, the one thing I should never forget.

Dream out loud!

By the way, here goes the lyrics, courtesy of azlyrics.

Do Or Die

In the middle of the night, when the angels scream,
I don’t want to live a lie that I believe.
Time to do or die.

I will never forget the moment, the moment.
I will never forget the moment, the moment.

And the story goes on… on… on…
That’s how the story goes.
That’s how the story goes.

You and I will never die.
It’s a dark embrace.
In the beginning was life, a dawning age.
Time to be alive.

I will never forget the moment, the moment.
I will never forget this night.
We sing, we sing…

On… on… on…
That’s how the story goes.

Fate is coming, that I know.
Time is running, got to go.
Faith is coming, that I know.
Let it go.
Here right now
Under the banner of heaven , we dream out loud
Do or die, and the story goes
On… on… on…

And the story goes on… on…
This is the story

Fate is coming, that I know (this is the story)
Time is running, got to go (this is the story)
Fate is coming, that I know (this is the story)
Let it go.
Here right now,
Under the banner of heaven, we dream out loud
Dream out loud!
Fate is coming, that I know (time to do or die)
Time is running out (time to do or die)
Fate is coming, that I know (time to do or die)
Let it go…
